Candida Symptoms
What Symptoms Does it Cause?
Candida was described in 1983 by C. Orian Truss in his book The Missing Diagnosis. It involves a number of symptoms consisting mainly of:
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Mental/Emotional Symptoms
- Irritability
- Depression
- Difficulty concentrating
- Gastrointestinal Symptoms
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Skin Problems
- Recurrent Infections (vaginal, sinus, urinary and prostate)
- Joint Pain
- Allergies
- ...and possibly a number of other symptoms
In addition, candida can cause intense cravings for foods it feeds on such as sweets, chocolates, breads, pastas, etc., thereby causing weight gain or keeping people from losing weight.
The reason some people have difficulty being on a low-carb diet like the Atkins or South Beach diets is because of their inability to overcome these cravings. Read the next section “How Do I Treat It” to find the solution to your cravings and get the desired results from your diet.
